Week 5 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 5 of the 2019 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lorenzo Brown (QB, Sioux Falls Storm)

The Sioux Falls Storm moved to 4-0 on the season after dispatching the Quad City Steamwheelers 66-52 in Week 5. In a game that was fueled by big plays, Sioux Falls QB Lorenzo Brown came up with a ton. Brown rushed for an IFL season-high six touchdowns in the victory over Quad City. He also threw for four touchdowns. In total, Brown accounted for 10 touchdowns in the victory. Brown finished the night through the air completing 12 of 15 passes for 160 yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 83 yards on 17 attempts and six touchdowns. Brown and the Sioux Falls Storm face off against the Arizona Rattlers in a battle of undefeated teams in Week 6.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bakari Triggs (DB, Green Bay Blizzard)

The Green Bay Blizzard earned their first road victory of the season in Week 5 as the team inched by the San Diego Strike Force 53-45. Just as in their previous victory, the Blizzard's defense came to the aid when needed most. Late in the first half, down 28-27, Blizzard DB Joe Powell intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown. The very next  Strike Force offensive play, DB Bakari Triggs intercepted another pass and returned it for a touchdown as well. Triggs' interception for a touchdown gave the Blizzard a 13 point lead and a lead the team would never relinquish. Triggs would later add another interception on the Strike Force's first possession of the second half. He finished the game with two tackles. The Blizzard travel and face the Quad City Steamwheelers in Week 6.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Nathan Criswell (K, Iowa Barnstormers)

The Iowa Barnstormers kept their undefeated start to the season alive  in Week 5 as the team squeaked by the Nebraska Danger 58-55. In a back and forth game built on big plays and every point mattering, Iowa Barnstormers K Nathan Criswell's consistent and reliable play helped make a difference in the team's victory. Criswell had a perfect night against the Danger making all eight of his attempts. He converted his only field goal of the night and made all seven of his extra point attempts. The Iowa Barnstormers look to maintain their hot start to the season in Week 6 as the team travels to face the Cedar Rapids River Kings.
